TEATER MØN SKOLESTUEN
The middle of the three original schoolrooms is located right in front of you as you enter the hall in the main building. In the old days, the schoolchildren met in the hall for morning prayers and then divided themselves into the three schoolrooms and the tiny first class (where there was room for 3 students). The schoolroom appears – again, after a period of suspended ceilings and vinyl on the floor, with wooden floors and high ceilings. You can sense the wear and tear of small feet under the desks and the teacher's walk between the rows and up to the lectern.
They knew what they were doing back in the thirties, so the schoolrooms all face east, and the light in the morning, during school hours, is absolutely wonderful. On the other hand, the windows are so high that if you sit as a child, you are not disturbed by what is going on outside.
