ROMEO & JULIET!

Asterions Hus takes on Shakespeare—and the greatest love story ever told.

The result is a touching, fast-paced and delightfully humorous performance. Twenty-four scenes. Twenty-four encounters. Twenty-four detours. Twenty-four celebrations of love in all its forms—and all its endings.

In our hands, Shakespeare’s timeless text unfolds through worm dances, love-struck sumo wrestlers, a gardeners’ chorus, and heartfelt ballet performed in wheelbarrows. Never has dying been played with so much joy for life.

Originally created for outdoor performance, Romeo & Juliet! is ideally suited to parks, gardens and open green spaces. However, we are highly flexible and can adapt the production to a wide variety of outdoor locations—as well as indoor venues.

Please contact us to discuss the possibilities.

The production has toured extensively internationally and is performed in English, German, and Portuguese.

Kulturkongen

“Exceptionally inventive, wonderfully fast-paced, highly entertaining and superbly performed.”

Christianshavneren

“A vibrant world of dance filled with sweat, earth and raw energy, constantly surprising the audience. Its beauty lies in its brutality. Every muscle is stretched to its limit by the astonishing physicality of the two performers. At its strongest, the production becomes exquisitely choreographed, powerful wordless dance theatre of world-class quality.”

Folkeskolen

“Tilde Knudsen and Martin Ammundsen play the young lovers in Peter Kirk and Emil Hansen’s exuberant, acrobatic and endlessly inventive staging. The performance races through whirlwind romances, rapid-fire storytelling and breathtaking physicality, all set to Sergei Prokofiev’s music, as Asterions Hus unleashes this timeless classic with youthful energy and irresistible momentum.”
