Teter Østmøn is originally an old school, a building complex worth preserving, located on the ridge facing Møns Klint. The school was built in 1935 and was expanded in 1960, when it was then upgraded to a “central school”. It was then a primary school with students up to 6th grade until 1991, when it was closed. There was room for both the inspector in the inspector’s residence and for teachers in the so-called teachers’ apartments on the 1st floor. Rumor has it that it was a good school and many were sad that the school had to close.

 

During the war in the former Yugoslavia, the school was converted into a refugee center and initially received as many as 150 refugees. Several classrooms were halved and turned into rooms and bathrooms were established. It is said that there was a football match at the associated Magleby Stadium every evening while the Bosnian refugees lived in the school. Rumor has it that this time was quite happy for the school despite the boring background.

 

Since then, the school has been both a collective, an institution, a forest kindergarten and a second-hand shop. Both neglected and very well looked after. Magleby Stadium has lost its former grandeur, the drain has collapsed and nature has taken over somewhat, so the football field is now transforming into a large garden with many opportunities to create outdoor scenes.

 

The school contains lots of rooms and several larger spaces that can be used for various purposes. Below you can see the various halls located on the school grounds.
